How To Fix “Couldn’t add to template. Something went wrong” on Instagram
Fix 1. Check For Instagram App Update
- Open Play Store or App Store.
- Search for Instagram.
- Tap on “Update”, if available.
Fix 2. Check Status of Your Instagram Account
- Open Instagram app.
- Tap on Profile icon and then tap on 3 horizontal lines (Menu).
- Tap on Settings and privacy, scroll down and then tap on “Account Status”.
- Click on “Features you can’t use” option and see if you have violated any community guidelines.
- If you have violation, then you may not be able to use “Add Yours” template.
- Please note that such restriction is lifted after 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month or sometime it takes up to 1 year.
Fix 3. Switch To Public Account
- Open Instagram app.
- Tap on Profile icon and then tap on 3 horizontal lines (Menu).
- Tap on Settings and privacy, scroll down and then tap on “Account Privacy”.
- Toggle off “Private account” option.
- Now, check if you can use the template.
Fix 4. Change Your Instagram Account Type
- Open Instagram app.
- Tap on Profile icon and then tap on 3 horizontal lines (Menu).
- Tap on Settings and privacy, scroll down and then tap on “Account type and tools”.
- If your account is personal then click on “Switch to professional account”.
- If your account is professional, then click on “Switch to personal account”.
- My account is personal so I click on “Switch to professional account”.
- Click “Continue” to proceed. At last, select category that best describes you. You can select any category as per your choice and click on “Done”.
- Click on “Creator” option and click on Next and Continue.
- That’s It! The account switch has been completed.
- Wait for 24-48 hrs. Then, check if you can use the template.
Fix 5. Log out and Login To Instagram
- Open Instagram app.
- Tap on Profile icon and then tap on 3 horizontal lines (Menu).
- Tap on Settings and privacy, scroll down and then tap on Log out.
- Next, close the app, re-open it, and then log in back and check if you can use the template.
Fix 6. Install an Older Version of Instagram (For Android)
- First, uninstall Instagram app on your Android phone.
- Go to https://instagram.en.uptodown.com/android.
- Select “Older Versions” and install an older version of Instagram.
- Open the app, login to your account and check if you can use the template.
