Methods To Recover IMO Account
Whether you are using IMO messenger app on your phone or you are using IMO web, you can follow the below steps for IMO account recovery.
1. When You Are Logging For The First Time
Download IMO app from Play Store or App Store. Open it on your phone.
Enter your phone number to login.
If you are logging for the first time, then you will receive a verification code (the verification code will not get received as a message), and the app will automatically detect and verify your phone number.
Note: Please make sure that phone number and IMO app you are trying to login should be on the same phone. If you are using IMO app on another phone and giving mobile number of another phone then you may face logging issues.
2. When You Have Logged Out and Trying To Login Again
If you have logout and trying to logging again, then simply, open the IMO app, enter your phone number and you will get logged in.

3. When You Have Deleted IMO Account And Trying To Recover It
If you have deleted your account earlier and now you want to get back your IMO account, then you have to again register with the mobile number. You can either use the same or another new number. It totally depends on you.
Important Note: There is no forgot password or reset password option given in the mobile app.

You can check, whether you are account is logged in on another device. There is an option “Manage devices” that will help you to check how many devices are linked to your account and you can remove the unknow or suspicious devices.
- Open IMO app, tap on your “Profile” icon.
- Go to the app “Settings”. Tap on “Account & Security”.
- Tap on “Manage Devices”.
- Here you can see all the linked devices. Now, have a look at all linked devices and then select the unwanted/suspicious devices and then tap on “Delete” button to remove them.
- The app will ask you “Are you sure you want to logout of this device?”. Simply tap on “Delete”.
- It will then ask you that we will send the verification code. To proceed tap on “Okay”.
- Now, enter the verification code to confirm and remove the unknown or suspicious device.
The removed device will no longer enter your account without the new verification code.

- Do not share the verification code with anyone.
- If you have purchased the new SIM card, but the previous owner is still able to log in to your account.
- Clicking on a malicious link. So, never click on a suspicious links.
- Do not log in to your account on other devices.
6. Recover IMO Account When You Lost Your Phone Number
If your phone number is lost and you want to recover your imo account without phone number, then below follow the steps.
If your phone number lost, then it is highly recommended that you must request your phone carrier/operator to provide same phone number for you.
If you are able to login to your account, then you can change phone number in Account Settings. It is also recommended that you must enable 2 step verification.
If the SIM card is lost and cannot be re-issued, then you can contact IMO via in-app Help & Feedback page or via email (feedback@imo.im) and provide detail as below:
- Your registered imo phone number with country code.
- Names of the three recently contacted person saved in phone book (auto added from mobile contact list before, not imo nickname).
- While providing these details, please add this statement “Please cancel my account”.
They will then delete your original account after reviewing your account information.
If later, you are able to retrieve this SIM card, you will have a new account after login.
