How To Fix Persona 3 Reload “An Unreal process has crashed: UE4-P3R” Error

Fix 1. Restart Steam/Restart PC

  • Close the Steam from Task Manager.
  • Then Restart Steam and launch the Persona 3 Reload and check.
  • If that doesn’t help, then restart your PC and then check.

Fix 2. Run Persona 3 Reload as an Admin

  • Open Steam. Right-click on “Persona 3 Reload” and click on Manage > Browse local files.
  • It will open the Game Installation folder.
  • Here open folder P3R > Binaries > Win64.
  • Right-click on “P3R” file and select “Properties”.
  • Go to “Compatibility” tab and tick mark “Run this program as an administrator”.
  • Then click on “Apply” and “OK”.
  • Now, launch the game from the installation folder, from here itself.

Fix 3: Modify Compatibility Settings of Persona 3 Reload

  • If running the game as admin does not work, then tick mark “Disable fullscreen optimizations”.
  • Also, tick mark “Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 8/Windows 7.
  • Now, launch the game from the installation folder and check.

  • Open Steam and go to Library.
  • Right-click on Persona 3 Reload and select “Properties”.
  • Go to “Installed” tab and then click on “Verify integrity of game files”.
  • Now, check if your issue is solved or not.

Fix 6. Modify Persona 3 Reload Game Launch Options

  • Open Steam. Right-click on Persona 3 Reload game and select “Properties”.
  • In the Launch Options, type “-dx11” and close the tab.
  • Now, launch the game and check if it solves your issue or not.
  • If not, then type “-dx12” or “-windowed” in Launch Options and then check.

Fix 7. Allow Persona 3 Reload Through Firewall/Antivirus

  • On your PC, click on “Windows” icon and click on Settings.
  • On the left, click on “Privacy & security” and then click on “Firewall and network protection”.
  • Click on “Allow an app through firewall”.
  • Click on “Change settings” and then click on “Allow another app”.
  • Then click on “Browse” and add P3R exe
  • Go to Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > P3R > P3R > Binaries > Win64 folder and add P3R app to the list.
  • Also, allow P3R through antivirus program or disable it for a while.

Fix 8. Disable Overlays

  • Disable Steam Overlay: Go to your Steam Library > right-click Persona 3 Reload > Properties > Turn off “Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game”.
  • Disable Nvidia Overlay: Open Nvidia GeForce Experience > Settings > General > Turn off “In-Game Overlay”.

Fix 9. Clear Download Cache

  • Open Steam, click on word Steam at top left and select “Settings”.
  • Go to “Downloads” tab and then click on “Clear Cache” next to Clear Download Cache.

Fix 10. Close Conflicting Programs

  • Disconnect external USB drive, mouse, disconnect additional joystick/controllers connected to PC.
  • Unplug the Logitech or Thrustmaster racing wheel.
  • End the task for Razer Synapse or MSI Dragon Center from Task Manager.
  • Close all of your tabs to free up RAM and relaunch the game.

Fix 11. Update Windows

  • Click on Windows icon and then click on Settings.
  • On the left click on “Windows Update” and then click on “Check for updates”.
  • If any update is available, then Download and install
  • Restart your PC and then launch the game.

Fix 12. Increase Virtual Memory

  • Click on Windows icon and click on “Settings”.
  • On the left side, click on “System” and then click on “Advanced system settings”.
  • From the Advanced tab, under Performance, click on Settings.
  • Go to Advancedtab, under Virtual Memory, click on Change.
  • Uncheck‘Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’.
  • Select yourWindows drive (usually C:).
  • Choose ‘Custom size’ and set the ‘Initial size’ and ‘Maximum size’.
  • (Set Initial Size: 1.5 x Total RAM & Maximum Size: 3 x Total RAM)

For example, if your PC Installed RAM is 16GB, then enter the value as follows:

  • Initial Size (MB): 24576
  • Maximum Size (MB): 49152

If your PC Installed RAM is 8GB, then enter the value as follows:

  • Initial Size (MB): 12288
  • Maximum Size (MB): 24576

Click ‘Set’ and then ‘OK’.

Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Fix 13. Uninstall and Re-Install Persona 3 Reload

  • If all fixes fail, then uninstall Persona 3 Reload game from your PC.
  • Restart your PC and re-install Persona 3 Reload and then check.
