How To Fix Xbox App Not Opening/Loading/Working on PC

Fix 1. Close Xbox App From Show Hidden Icons & Update Xbox App

1.1: Close Xbox App From Show Hidden Icons

  • Click on “Show hidden icons” in taskbar.
  • Right-click on “Xbox” icon and then click on “Quit”.

1.2: Update Xbox App

  • Open Microsoft Store app.
  • Type “Xbox” in the search bar.
  • If update is available, then click on “Update” button.

Fix 2. Repair and Reset Xbox App

  • On your PC, go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > Search for Xbox.
  • Click on “3 horizontal dots” and then click on “Advanced options”.
  • Scroll down and click on “Repair”.
  • Then click on “Reset”.
  • Now, check problem solved or not.

Now close everything and restart your PC. Then launch the Xbox app and see if the problem is solved or not.

Fix 3. Run Xbox Services Automatically

  • In Windows Search, type “Run” and open it.
  • In Run box, type “msc” and hit ENTER.
  • Scroll down and look for Xbox Services. You can see there are 4 Xbox Services.
  • Right-click on Xbox Accessory Management Service and select “Properties”.
  • In the Startup type: from the drop-down menu select “Automatic”.
  • And if the service status is stopped, then click on “Start” to start the service.
  • Click “Apply” and “OK”.

Repeat the same steps for the other 3 remaining Xbox services:

  • Xbox Live Auth Manager.
  • Xbox Live Game Save
  • Xbox Live Networking Service

Once done, close everything and restart your PC. Then launch the Xbox app and see if the problem is solved or not.

Fix 4. Install Xbox Identity Provider

  • Open the web browser and go to: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9WZDNCRD1HKW?hl=en-us&gl=US
  • Click on Install and then click on “Open Microsoft Store” from the pop-up.
  • If it is already installed then there will be no download or install option.
  • But if it is not, then download or update it.
  • Now, check problem is fixed or not.

Fix 5. Delete & Reinstall Xbox Gaming Services

  • Using Windows Search, search for PowerShell.
  • Right-click on Windows PowerShell and then click on Run as administrator.
  • Copy and paste this command and hit ENTER:

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage –allusers

Once that command process completes, copy-paste the below command and hit ENTER:

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

It will then open Microsoft Store that will tell you to install “Gaming Service”, simply click on “Get/Install” button and wait for the installation to complete.
