Steps To Make Contactless Payment On Android Phone Via Google Pay

To get started, you have to first add a card to the Google Pay app and thereafter you can easily make contactless/cashless payments.

Also, note that the first payment method that you add to Google Pay becomes the default contactless payment method for making all payments. And when you make any contactless payment, the amount is charged from the default method. However, you can change the default payment method at any time.

Step 1: Add A New Card

  • On your phone, launch Google Pay
  • Tap on Profile Picture located at the top right and then tap on Wallet.
  • Tap on Add to Wallet, located at the bottom.
  • Finally, tap on Payment card and then on New credit or debit card.
  • You can enter the card details manually or you can use the phone camera to capture your card details.

  • Look and enter the verification code.

Note: After adding the card, you may see a small authorization on your account which is temporary. This authorization checks the validation of your bank account and card.

Once you have added the card and ready to go, paying contactless payment is very much simple and easy.

  • First, unlock your phone, open Google Pay app and make sure that NFC is turned on.
