How To Fix Helldivers 2 Crashing on PS5

Fix 1. Restart Your PS5

  • Press and hold Power button on the console and select “Power off”.
  • Unplug all the wires.
  • Wait for a few seconds and press the Power button again. It will remove any remaining power and will clear your system cache.
  • Now, plug-in all the wires and turn on your PlayStation and check if the problem is fixed or not.

Fix 2. Check For Helldivers 2 Game Update

  • Highlight Helldivers 2 game on your PS5 home screen.
  • Press Options button on your controller.
  • Select “Check for Update” and if any available then update it.

Fix 3. Update System Software on PS5

  • Go to PS5 Settings > System.
  • Select System Software > System Software Update and Settings.
  • Select Update System Software to update, if any updates appear.

Fix 4. Check Your PS5 Is Not Overheating

  • Touch your PS5 and check if it is not overheating. If it is then let it cool.
  • Make sure your PS5 is placed with ample space around it.
  • Make sure the PS5 opening is clean and there no dust buildup.
  • Do not use your PS5 for extended gaming sessions.

Fix 5. Rebuild Database on PS5

  • Power off your PS5. But don’t unplug it from wall.
  • Press and hold power button on your console until you hear two beep sound then release the button. Your console will boot into Safe Mode.
  • Now, connect your controller to your console with the use of USB cable and then press PS button.
  • Use the D-pad to scroll down and select Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.
  • Next, select Rebuild Database > OK.
  • Launch the game and check if the problem is solved.

Fix 6. Disable Performance Mode & Opt For 60 FPS

6.1: Disable Performance Mode

  • Start PS5. Click the Gear icon on the top right of your PS5 home screen.
  • Navigate to Settings > Save Data and Game/App Settings.
  • Scroll down to Game Presets.
  • Go to Performance Mode or Resolution Mode and select Game Default.

6.2: OPT For 60 FPS

  • Launch Helldivers 2 and select your preferred game mode.
  • In the top right corner, click on the Menu
  • Select Settings > Video.
  • Turn OFF 120FPS
  • Click “Apply” to save changes.

Fix 7. Uninstall and Re-Install Helldivers 2

  • On Your PS5 Home Screen.
  • Highlight “Helldivers 2” and press the “Options” button on your controller.
  • Then select “Delete” and confirm it.
  • Once deleted. Restart your PS5. Then re-install the game and then check.

Fix 8. Reset Your PS5 Console

Note: Please backup your game data first.

  • Go to PS5 Settings > System > System Software > Reset Options > Reset Your Console.
  • Re-install the Helldivers 2 game again.
  • Then launch the game and see if it resolves the issue.
